QVC, the popular TV shopping channel have shipped their billionth package in 2007! They may have got TV selling down to a fine art but can they hack it over the net?  We went to find out.

QVC As easy as ABC
QVC have a wide range of products, albeit with a feminine bias.  However, they do sell men’s clothes and generally have more options for male clients than other TV channel webshops tend to have.

How large is the brand range on this site? Are we limited to a narrow selection of big name brands or does this site offer real consumer choice?.

There are some good brands available at QVC compared to other shopping channel sites but not when compared to online stores selling bigger ranges of electrical goods.

We looked at the cellphones but felt, overall, that the range was a little limited within each brand.

The site seems to have product ranges, such as jewelry and health, which are better stocked than others in terms of branded goods, and in general.

Quality of the information. Here we look at the quality of the product descriptions, design and images on the website. Does the content give you a good idea of how the product looks and feels? Also, are there customer testimonials?.

QVC lists thorough descriptions of products in their webshop and includes customer Q&As about the item. Where available, sales videos are on offer and there is also a ‘comparison’ feature to help you decide the best item out of a few that might have caught your eye.

Product photos are clear and useful (bags, for example, had shots from all angles as well as interior shots) and the information provided by QVC certainly aids selection.

What deals does this site offer to online consumers? Are there offers for returning customers? Is this generally an expensive or a bargain e-shop?.
We checked out their cell phone prices and found many other sites offering cheaper deals.  There are certainly bargains to be had here but not necessarily on branded items or electrical goods.
