Amazon is America’s largest web shop and now operates worldwide. Amazon has slowly expanded its product range and prides itself on its customer focus.  We took a look at their online store to see what makes them so special.

The Great Amazon

You name it, they sell it.  They started with books then reached out into other markets such as music, electrical products, baby items and more, they even sell groceries now.

Not only do they have a vast range of products but there is a great choice within each category.  Top marks.

How large is the brand range on this site? Are we limited to a narrow selection of big name brands or does this site offer real consumer choice?.

The Amazon e-shopping site allows you to filter product categories by brand and displays a long list of popular brands to choose from. All the biggies are here.

They have some imaginative products and we particularly felt tempted over their retro candy gift boxes, with a choice of all your childhood favorites from the 40s through to the 90s.

Quality of the information. Here we look at the quality of the product descriptions, design and images on the website. Does the content give you a good idea of how the product looks and feels? Also, are there customer testimonials?.

Amazon are famed for the comprehensiveness of their product information.  Amazon give you all the info you need and then some.

You are given customer ratings and reviews, technical details, dimensions, detailed descriptions and images of the product from different angles.

They also highlight other accessories that you might wish to purchase as well as list partner providers who offer the same product, some of them selling cheaper, second hand versions.

Having checked out the Amazon site we can’t imagine anyone having unanswered questions. Simply brill.
