The site is a little confusing to find your way around initially.  It has a ‘thrown together’, chaotic feel.  However once you have scrolled about a bit you can find out what is available and how best to access it.

Better graphic design, text size and organization would give this site a real boost.

You can navigate the site to look for coupons for online stores, grocery coupons – by state, database or printable - as well as restaurant coupons and more.

Some sections require free registration before you are entitled to view.

How large is the coupon range on this site? Are we limited to a narrow selection of brands or stores or does this site offer coupons for everything?.
There are a vast range of grocery coupons for online stores, top supermarkets and store chains such as Target and Wal-Mart. The only niggle is that some states are far better represented than others in terms of local stores that are served by Coupon Mom.  Special deals however, are highlighted at 42 chain stores which operate across 50 states.

Why is it different to other coupon websites? We graded on originality and innovation..

The site has some nice touches like the ability to upload your shopping list to set up ongoing alerts on offers, coupons of giveaways for your regular items.

They also flag up items that charities need and encourage customers to donate some items to good causes.

Another nice touch on the site is the occasional use of video clips.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..
There is an email support but you are heavily encouraged not to use it – instead you are referred to FAQ and the forum.  Whilst we understand the staffing issues involved in managing a site like this we felt that the customer service side of things was decidedly lacking.

There is an email list, Twitter feed and forum, which is regularly used and where you can discuss bargains until your heart is content.

What deals does this site offer to online consumers? Are there offers for returning customers? Is this generally an expensive or a bargain e-shop?.

Coupon Mom lists all deals, even if they are only minor discounts.  Other sites focus on bigger reductions, so one downside of this site is that you need to trawl through lots of lower discounted deals to find the best bargains in each category.

However, they do flag up special deals, free shipping offers and even freebies.

Ok, so what's the catch? We studied the small print on this site to see if these coupon deals are worth the paper they are printed on….

The service is free.

One issue identified is that sometimes the site is not able to accurately describe offers provided by different store branches. You may turn up at a store expecting a big discount but your local branch may not be offering this. The small print on the site explains that the listed offer is a guideline and that with chain stores, there is variance in what local stores decide to offer.
