The site is well laid out and has a nice photo or video still next to the title of each blog.  Generally there is enough in the title or article intro to encourage readers to click to read more.  Articles are kept concise and followed by reader comments.

There are links to other articles or relevant sites that can be clicked on within blogs. There are ‘featured’ blogs and ‘most popular’ entries highlighted on the homepage.

Generally the site is clear and contains enough teasers to coax readers to click on the blogs or links.

There is a navigational top bar which includes past blogs plus other topics and companies.  There are also archives and a photo gallery. The navigation provides
an efficient search route through this high-content online shopping blog and is aided by well-selected category titles.

Who writes this blog? Is it one person or a group of consumers? We looked at the description or bio of the bloggers to find out who or what company is behind this blog?.

The Consumerist Team are all named and photographed on the About Us Page.  Their Twitter and email details are also posted up. Each editor has their own page with filters to find out about their posts, comments to their posts, friends, followers and more.  There are no bios though, which is a shame.

Why is it different to other shopping or consumer blogs? Why does a shopper need this content? We graded on originality and innovation..

The blog has both a serious and light-hearted face.  It raises issues about poor service and special offers whilst at the same time laughing about or commenting upon consumer and shopping issues.

Its originality is its ability to consistently find the current shop issues that interest consumers and stimulate discussion and comment.
